The Yale Baseball / Softball Academy is proud to encourage, support, and train the Student-Athlete. Because the Yale Baseball / Softball Academy places a heavy emphasis on academic excellence, it is mandatory for all Yale Baseball / Softball Academy students to maintain a B average (73% cummulative) while attending our program. The Yale Baseball / Softball Academy wishes to maintain a high academic standard.

TESTING

Each student athlete’s performance will be monitored through a series of tests during the course of the year. We will evaluate during the month of September, middle of November, and at the end of January to see how far they have developed on each skill.

Our physical tests will be as followed:

1. 10 Yard Dash

2. 60 Yard Dash

3. Pro – Agility

4. Vertical Standing Jump

5. Maximum Velocity (cro-hop throw)

6. Maximum Velocity (ball batted off T)

7. 12 Minute Run

8. Quick Release

9. Arm Distance/Accuracy

These evaluations are based around what college recruiters and major league scouts are interested in. Each student will also have a daily participation mark out of five for each session attended. Mental training seminars will be held on a weekly basis where there might be homework assigned to each child. That homework will revolve around the game of baseball in some capacity.
