“...to develop self-confident Life Champions who are committed to continuous improvement as scholars, athletes, and community leaders..”

Welcome to the Yale Baseball Academy.

The Yale Baseball Academy is an elite-skills based program designed to fulfill each students baseball and academic dreams. Our program specializes in high performance training and elite skill development of athletes during school hours. This program provides the best coaching, training, and facilities in BC. We operate out of beautiful Delair Park in Abbotsford, BC as well as our 10,000 square foot Abbotsford Recreation Centre and Abbotsford Show Barn. Our goal at Yale Secondary is to promote academic and athletic excellence. We are open to all players of all abilities; however, we recommend 4 years of playing experience under BC Minor, Little League, or the BC Premier Baseball League.

Students receive full credit for their on and off field training:(P.E. 9,10, and 11 as well as Strength & Conditioning 9,10, and 11). Yale Secondary School has continued to be one of the top academic public institutions in the Fraser Valley. Recent surveys identify Yale as the top academic public high school in the district and one of the best in the province. In most years, Yale students are awarded significantly more district and provincial scholarships than any other school in Abbotsford. Yale offers over 250 different courses and a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The range of educational opportunities available at Yale has led to our fine reputation. We offer several Advanced Placement courses and support them with Honors courses throughout the grade levels. Yale also offers a wide-ranging and intensive program in visual art, theatre and music, which presents students with many opportunities to show their talents.

All of our instructors here at Yale Secondary are recognized nationally and internationally for their baseball expertise. Not only will each student receive top quality instruction, they will have a chance to further their academic success while playing baseball at a post secondary institution. Throughout the course of the year, we will be sending out college resumes and videos for all grade 11 students who wish to pursue their baseball career at the University and College level. Our valuable classroom sessions will be based around sport nutrition, sport psychology, and SAT preparation. We will have a minor playing schedule against other Academies in BC and possibly Western Canada (Alberta). We will have a recruitment camp at UBC during the month of October and will be exposed to guest speakers such as college coaches and local area MLB Scouts.

This program offers physical training, mental training, state of the arc facilities, high-end equipment, and a strong academic course load. Each student athlete will maintain a 75% average in all classes to remain in our Sports Academy. If they fail to do so, they will be in academic probation until further notice. Our objective is to train LIFE CHAMPIONS; this will include community involvement and volunteer experience during the five training months at the academy.

The dryland program focuses primarily on core training and plyometrics. All Sport Academy Students are taken through extensive plyometric training, SAQ sessions (Speed, Agility, Quickness) as well as valuable classroom sessions that focus on sports nutrition, sport psychology, and sport injury management.

The Yale Baseball academy operates from September 1st to January 20th. We engage in 72 training sessions, which are approximately 2 hours in length. They will train either on field or in the classroom from Monday to Thursday and have their baseball specific dry land training each Friday. The cost of the program is $1800.00, which can be financed over the school year. This can be financed by pre-authorized payments or by visa. We do offer a sibling discount for players who have a brother or sister in the program.

The Yale Baseball Academy takes pride in their appearance and will be partners with Mizuno Canada for all baseball apparel. Each athlete will receive a 4-piece package from Mizuno. This package includes a hitter’s top jacket, pro fleece, shorts, and a t-shirt with our Yale logo. There are many more items available such as cleats, turfs, pants, etc. If interested, please contact Larsen Bauck at Mizuno Canada. We take pride in our efficient practice plans at our academy and are very fortunate to use the high-end equipment of the Abbotsford Cardinals Premier Baseball Club at beautiful Delair Park. From our indoor clubhouse, to our turfed batting cage and cardinal red hitting tunnel, our equipment allows for productive on field training and we make sure to get the most out of our players during every on field session.
