
Corey Eckstein

Coach Corey Eckstein is back once again with the Cardinals and takes over as Head Coach of the Senior Program. Corey now enters his 5th season with the organization after assisting the Senior Team for three years while leading his Junior Team to a 29-11 record thereby becoming BCJPBL League Champions in 2008.
Corey began his career with the Cards as a player in 2001 and played through the 2003 season. In 2003, Corey was named to the Canadian Junior National Team as a pitcher and competed at the Pan-Am Games in Venezuela. He was also a member of the 2002 BC Select team that claimed gold at the Canada Cup. He has attended four National Championships over his short career, claiming gold three times. He attended Vernon College in Texas before having career ending arm surgery.
Corey has been an instructor at Powerzone Academy in Abbotsford for the past four years giving private instruction to up and coming players. He currently operates Yale Secondary High School Baseball Academy which has been a huge success over the past two years.
He was a guest coach in Oliver for the U17 Select Team in 2007, and assisted Coach Cav Whitely with the U16 Selects at the Western Canada Games and Pacific Northwest Championships.
Corey was an invited guest coach of Baseball Canada at the Mizuno Elite Camp held at Toronto's Roger Center in 2008 and this year will be an assistant coach with the U19 Ball Club at the Canada Games in P.E.I. In the spring of 2009, Eckstein was a guest coach with the Canadian Junior National team at their extended Spring Training Camp.
He currently holds Level 3 Coaching Certification through NCCP and helps instruct at the Big League Experience Camps each year. He was elected into the Abbotsfords Sports wall of fame in 2005 and is in charge of Coaching Development for Abbotsford Minor Baseball.
Corey brings good knowledge to our program and is motivated by the success of each individual player. He intends to create a winning atmosphere among these players and plans for his academy to simply COMPETE.
Corey has worked with Yale Baseball/Softball Academy since the 2007-2008 season.

Jen Schreyer
-- Teacher / Pitching Coach

Ms. Schreyer is the teacher of both the softball and baseball academies. Jen has been playing softball all her life and has a great passion for the game. She received a scholarship in 2003 to pitch for Simon Fraser University where she played for four years winning 4 regional championships and the NAIA national championship in 2005. Jen was named to the region 1 all-star team in 2007 and pitched a perfect game in her senior season. After university Jen spent two summers playing professionally in Europe for the Vienna Wanderers in Austria and in Valencia, Spain for Antorcha. She was named most valuable pitcher of the Spanish League for the 2008 season. Jen brings a wealth of pitching experience and has been working with pitchers in Manitoba, BC and internationally since 2005. Ms. Schreyer has worked with Yale Baseball/Softtball since the 2009/2010 season.

Andy Rempel

Coach Rempel enters his first year with the Sandlot Baseball Academy and has has a wealth of knowledge to share with all students. Andy was drafted by the Seattle Mariners out of high school, but decided to attend Central Arizona JC for his first two years and then transfered to the University of Purdue. Andy primarily works with our outfielders and hitters, and specializes in base running. Andy is the head coach of the Abbotsford Cardinal Senior baseball club and helps with the Baseball BC Selects program each year. We are very fortunate to have Andy aboard at the Sandlot!
Andy has worked with Yale Baseball/Softball Academy since the 2007-2008 season.
