The Yale and Fraser Hockey Academies are proud of our present and past Junior Hockey players as well as those
who have gone on to play college hockey under athletic and academic scholarships.

JAKE VIRTANEN
Calgary Hitmen
1st Overall
Smooth, offensively dangerous, and strong. Three words that describe this young athlete. Jake Virtanen has been in our program since Gr 8 and has developed and grown as a student, athlete and person. Jake currently plays in the BC Major Midget League for the Fraser Valley Bruins, and is a member of the 2011 Team BC.


MIKE SIMPSON
Mike is a towering 6'5" defensemen who is currently playing for the Kootenay Ice in the WHL. In the 2010-2011 season, Mike played for the Delta Ice Hawks and the Port Moody Black Panthers.


SHEA THEODORE
As a gifted skater and puck mover, Shea is an incredible asset on the point. Shea was an all-star at the 2011 Major Midget all-star game, and is presently playing with the Seattle Thunderbirds.


MACKENZIE SKAPSKI
Mackenzie presenlty plays in the WHL for the Kootenay Ice. He was a pivotal player for the 2009 provincial championship winners Abbotsford Hawks, as well as a "wall" for the 2010 BC High School Hockey Championship winers, Yale Lions He was selected in the 3rd round in the Bantam draft. Currently, Mackenzie is rated as being in the top 4 for WHL goalies eliglible in this year's NHL entry draft!


KELLAN TOCHKIN
Kellan was selected in the 1st round, 10th overall by the Everett Silvertips. In his rookie season, he led all WHL rookies in points. Kellan has incredible vision and is a dangerous threat offensively. Kellan was recently traded to the Prince Albert Raiders. As an undrafted player in the NHL, Kellan went on to sign with the Vancouver Canucks. Our first NHL signed alumni!! Congrats Kellan and best of luck!


AUSTIN FERGUSON
Austin is presently playing for the Kelowna Rockets. He was selected in the 8th round, in the 2010 Bantam draft. Austin is a strong skater with a great nose for the net. His hard work ethic and positive attitude is a reflection of his great character. Good luck in the WHL Austin!


JASON SIEBERT
Kelowna Rockets
1st round (17th overall)
Jason is a strong skater with an offensive mindset. As a goal scorer, he turned heads and ultimately became Kelowna's first round pick in the 2009 Bantam draft.

JENNA KIRKWOOD
Jenna was one of our original hockey athletes back in 2004. She transfered into Warner for her Gr 12 year before heading to Oswego State University (New York) under a hockey scholarship. Presently, Jenna is coaching at Warner in Alberta. Congratulations on using hockey as a means to a successful career Jenna!

GRAHAM FAST
Graham was one of the original students of the YHA when it was created in 2004. Graham went on to play Midget AAA, then Junior B for the Abbotsford Pilots, and then off to Junior A where he played for the Winkler Flyers. Graham is now a student at UFV and assisting the YHA in coaching and player development.

DEVON TOEWS
Devon is a smooth skating, offensive defenseman in the BCHL currently playing for the Surrey Eagles. He was the MVP in the BCHSHL Provincial Championship, a Major Midget All Star in 2011, and the leading scorer in the 2011 BCHSHL Provincial Championship. As a scholar and an elite athlete, he serves as a great role model for future student-athletes.
